For the last few weeks I have had a hankering (love that word) for Chili and Jalapeno Cornbread. Tonight I got to satisfy my craving thanks to my friend Dennis. Dennis invited me to dinner at his house and it was oh so good. The chili had just the right amount of heat, lots of spice, beans and ground beef. I talked Dennis into experimenting with the cornbread by adding creamed corn, cheddar cheese and jalapenos. I think he was pleased with the results...I know I was. We talked about our families, work and life. Dennis needs to write a book...or a screen play about his family. They are full of stories and that is what life is all about. As I was driving home, I reflected again on just how fortunate I am to have friends in my life like Dennis. I must sound like a broken record, but...life is good, damn good.
