Apartment Hunting for Ryan - Day 237

Mike and I spent the day together searching for Ryan's new home in Jacksonville. Armed with a few listings Ryan found on the internet and another few printouts from a rental finder agency, we headed out on our hunt. Unfortunately we did not find the golden egg...only a few rotten ones. Rentals in the Southside area were a little pricey with a laundry list of add on costs. San Marco is the neighborhood I was drawn to. It is an older historic district with lots of charm and beautiful views of the St. Johns River. This search was not nearly as easy as I expected. Looks like another road trip to Jax is in my future.

Apartment hunting all afternoon left no time for lunch and two very hungry campers. Mike and I consulted Urbanspoon and settled on Billy's Boat House in Jacksonville Beach. Wednesday's special was 18 shrimp for $12.95, fried, grilled, blackened or coconut(ed). A hot spinach crab dip to start and the special was our choice. And an excellent choice it was. I ordered my shrimp half blackened, half fried with a salad and hush puppies. Everything was very tasty and the service was friendly. Live music filled the outdoor dining area. You could tell this was a favorite with the locals and a new favorite of ours as well.

Many hugs,

Kathy
