Accountability is working. For breakfast I made Mike a delicious looking egg sandwich on grilled Naan bread with bacon and cheddar cheese. I wanted one too. The smell of bacon was intoxicating. I ate half a piece with my not so tasty Low Sugar Apple and Cinnamon Instant Oatmeal.
Out the door I headed for work at Costco. Thank goodness the CDS demonstrators were offering some tasty options because the oatmeal did not do the hunger satisfaction trick. I noshed on Penne with an Italian Cherry Tomato Sauce, a bite of Kashi Granola Bar, two delicious Spinach Mozzarella Ravioli and a bite of sliced Brie. And then I sat bored out of my mind. To pass the time I checked facebook, cleaned up the wine section and sold 34 bottles of wine. All the while thinking of the projects waiting for me at home.
The noshing continued at dinnertime. I warmed up Crab Corn Chowder from Costco and served it with smoked salmon, asiago cheese, boursin, prosciutto, crackers and a big glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. I dread trying to calculate the portion size for my SparkPeople entry.
The rest of the evening was spent watching the Oscars and baking cookies. I took the safe route baking two old favorites - White Chocolate Blueberry Pecan and Toasted Pecan Chocolate Chip. They turned out well, but did not excite me. I keep thinking of new taste combinations, but have no time to experiment. Gluten free options haunt me every day. Maybe next week will allow me to explore my creative side.
Many hugs,
Kathy
